Sue Fisher – Sue Fisher Seat Weaving

Seat weaving services include

  • hand-laced cane (for seats or seat backs with holes drilled around the perimeter)
  • pressed cane (aka pre-woven or sheet cane) for seats or seat backs with a groove around the perimeter
  • rush seats, both fiber and natural rush
  • flat reed / splint
  • Danish cord
  • Shaker Tape

My aunt introduced me to furniture refinishing in high school.  She taught me how to do a rush seat after refinishing and stenciling a Robinson chair when i was in high school.  I enjoy transforming something old and worn into a beautiful and unique piece of furniture.
