Hand caning and rush seat weaving are dying art forms and it is our intent not to let that happen. Every chair we see comes with a story or a story yet to come! Our mission at Hank’s is to restore your chair while refreshing the memory that accompanies it! Or possibly it’s a chair with memories still to unfold!

I’ve been repairing cane and rush chairs for over 40 years. It was a family business that I grew up with. I do hand cane, rush, Scandinavian twine and other Danish Modern weaves. I work out of my home in Evanston.

I am sculptor based in Chicago and I would like to take on local Danish cord projects as they arise.

I’m a furniture designer and maker. I can offer chair caning services to others.
